A Short of Sorts: Lactose Intolerant

As always, the amazing background art was done by Blue!

For all the murderous prompts, this turned out oddly… cute? I was not expecting that. Anyhow, remember that I’m still taking prompts for the next story, and the prompt theme is OCEAN! (You can check out this post for more info, but feel free to prompt here.) There were 18 prompts by 11 prompters, check ’em out!:

Prompt Call: Ocean

05Ocean.jpg

Prompt call time! Give me your prompts, and I’ll take every last one and work it into a short story. This time, the theme is OCEAN! (Because this heatwave has murdered me and I wish I were a mermaid at this point.) Anything goes: ideas, words, pictures, poetry, music, whatever you can throw at me. You don’t have to follow the theme, it’s just a nudge to get your brain juices flowing. Otherwise, the general rules apply:

  • You can prompt at any point in time, on any social media where I lurk (like on these posts on Insta, Twitter, and Tumblr), but if it might get worked into the next story if it’s later.
  • You can give me as many prompts as you like—just pretty please keep it within reason.
  • Keep prompts PG-13, and nothing offensive.
  • By giving me prompts, you’re giving me the honor to do whatever I’d like with them in/with my stories as my content. Prompts themselves remains to whoever owns them.

For more info, stories, and custom stories, check out the project page. And if you want to support this project, consider giving me a coffee on Ko-Fi?

Now, hit me with those prompts! And look forward to the story written with last theme’s prompts going live tomorrow!!!

Shorts of Sorts: I Crave

This story certainly turned out… interesting. A taste of how weird the stories used to get, back in the days of the first prompt project, I suppose! Anyhow, remember that I’m still taking prompts for the next story, and the prompt theme is DESSERT! (You can check out this post for more info, but feel free to prompt here.) Anyhow, here’s all the prompts!:

Instagram:

  • Vulture – @sarah_ahiers
  • Cold | Nocturnal | Alive – @totally-anntastic
  • Dry skin reminds me of the desert, void of moisture, parched and dusty, cracked like the packed dirt ground. – @catonthekeyboard
  • Quicksand, but it’s alive—once they’re suffocated in the sand it draws the moisture out of their body to feed, or just disintegrates them. Maybe a mimic? | Bats that sleep buried in the sand during the day and come out at night. — @byrdeblue

Tumblr:

  • Mineral harvest fields (like e.g. salt patches). | Antlion larvae… but gigantic ones. | Sand castles. – @Telari
  • Mirages | Coyotes | Flash floods – @eveningrelics

Twitter:

  • A talking cactus – @alliepennauthor

Prompt call time! Give me your prompts, and I’ll take every last one and work it into a short story. This time, the theme is DESSERT! Prompt Call: SPACE

01Space.png

Prompt call time! Typically I’ll post this the day before I post a story, but I figured surprising peeps with a story instead of a lame prompt call would be best.

Anyhow, your prompt theme is SPACE!!! Anything goes: ideas, words, pictures, poetry, music, whatever you can throw at me. You don’t have to follow the theme, it’s more of a guideline to get your brain juices flowing.

  • You can prompt anywhere, here, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram.
  • You can prompt at any point in time, but if it might get worked into the next story if I already started writing the story
  • You can give me as many prompts as you like—just pretty please keep it within reason.
  • Keep prompts PG-13, nothing offensive, and I don’t do fanfic, alas.
  • By giving me prompts, you’re giving me the honor to do whatever I’d like with them in/with my stories.
  • If you want to be tagged in future prompt call posts so you don’t miss one, let me know!
