In case you missed it, alas Blue is gonna have to step down from illustrating for a while, so hopefully my backgrounds aren’t too disappointing! Anyhow, this story is… weird. But hopefully a good weird? Something to kick off the fall season! Speaking of, remember that I’m still taking prompts for the next story, and the prompt theme is AUTUMN! **She insisted there were no boys specifically in my stories so far (I kindly point out that most of my protags don’t have a gender), so here we are.
Bacon, out.
Your background images are great, and I loved the story :)
People always assume my characters are female when I write in first person, but half of the time they’re male!

Thank you! And uhg, it’s so frustrating! It’s not as if I make my voices super feminine in general! I think a lot of people associate first person to YA, and therefore a lot of female protags. Maybe I should make all of mine guys from here on out, just to surprise them! XD

Exactly, me either! I submitted a first person piece to my university workshop, and everyone assumed the character was female. I queried it and was told I’d left no clues in the writing, so they’d guessed based on their own experiences (Siblings, in most of their experiences, were usually one male and one female, whereas my story was about two brothers.) I titled it ‘Brothers Through Fire,’ on my blog after the feedback session to make it 100% clear xD
